Assistant Professors Page and Gilbert awarded UT-ORII Seed Program

Assistant Professors Kate Page and Dustin Gilbert were awarded one of two UT-ORII Seed Programs along with their collaborators at ORNL Craig Bridges and Valentino Cooper. The title of their project is “Tuning Compositional Complexity in Layered High Entropy Oxides and Heterostructure Derivatives: A Science of Synthesis Proposal.”

More about the Program:

The UT-ORII is the Oak Ridge Innovation Institute at the University of Tennessee-Oak Ridge Innovation Institute (UT-ORII) Seed program. The University of Tennessee-Oak Ridge Innovation Institute has established this Seed Funding program to support new and highly innovative multidisciplinary research projects designed by ORNL-UT research teams. All proposals needed to articulate interdisciplinary approaches and include advances in developing the knowledge and skills that integrate data science, engineering, and technology with contextual applications. Winning teams were chosen through a rigorous process of reviews by an ad hoc committee comprised of faculty, joint UT/ORNL appointees, and ORNL staff, then scoring against stated criteria before sending their recommendations to a final committee where the decisions were made based on discussions and feedback.
