A message from Assistant MSE Department Head Dr. David Keffer (winner of the TCE Outstanding Faculty Service Award):
Please join me in congratulating folks in the MSE community who were recognized yesterday at the TCE Awards banquet.
Carla Lawrence received the college Outstanding Support Staff award.
Dr. Hahn Choo received the Leon & Nancy Cole Superior Teaching award.
Dr. Peter Liaw and Dr. Bin Hu were both recognized with the college Research Achievement award.
The SMRC (Scintillation Materials Research Center), however, stole the show with Dr. Chuck Melcher receiving the “TCE Award for Translational Research” and Dr. Mariya Zhuravleva receiving both the “Dean’s Junior Faculty Research Excellence Award” and the “TCE Professional Promise in Research Award”.
Congratulations to them all for their well-deserved awards.
Most every day there is some example on display of how hard folks in the MSE department are working and it is a pleasure to see some of those labors recognized by the college.
