Research

  • Propulsion – micro electric propulsion thrusters, emitters and microfluidics for cubesat applications.
  • Laser Materials Processing – alloying and cladding of surfaces, and net-shaping of refractory metals and cermets via additive manufacturing techniques, for extreme environment applications; femtosecond laser micromachining / microstructuring.
  • Nanomaterials – fabrication of mil-tall piles of polymer nanofibers via nanoimprinting methods; preparation of monodispersed nanodiamond-loaded compounds.
  • Energy Storage – performance of activated carbon fiber materials as electrodes in electric double layer storage devices.
