Academics
Degree Programs
Our department offers a variety of degree programs designed to prepare students for their future in materials science, including BS, MS, and PhD programs, as well as a five-year BS/MS program for qualified students.

Undergraduate
Studies
Accredited by the ABET Engineering Accreditation program, our undergraduate program features a low student to faculty ratio designed to equip students to successfully perform the work of materials scientists and engineers in industry, academia, and government beyond graduation.

Graduate
Studies
Our graduate program offers MS and PhD degrees with a variety of concentrations in different fields. A number of nationally respected corporations regard UT as a “target university” for hiring engineers, offering our graduates the opportunity to rise to top positions in industry and academia.
