A team of undergraduate and graduate students from the University of Tennessee Department of Materials Science and Engineering participated in the Materials Bowl at the TMS Annual Meeting (March 10-14, 2019) in San Antonio, Texas. The team was composed of Sarah Wonner, Rakesh Kamath, Eli Darby and Connor Stephens. The team advanced past the elimination and semi-final rounds to reach the finals, where they faced the defending champions from Colorado School of Mines. Our students represented the department admirably but ultimately CSM retained their crown. Hats to off to Sarah, Rakesh, Eli and Connor for their second place finish in this national competition!
