The Materials Science and Engineering Department is comprised of quite a diverse group of people with students, staff, and faculty hailing from a variety of states, countries, and continents. Starting Spring Semester 2022, the department has presented The Cultural Tour of MSE where volunteers from the department has shared their culture, traditions, experiences, and food with the rest of MSE. The events have been open to all, but MSE faculty and students are encouraged to attend.
Some of the “trips” we have taken thus far have been to Korea where we tried Korean BBQ and Tteokbokki (simmered rice cakes). We have also “been to” Puerto Rico, Cuba, and Bangladesh. We look forward to where our cultural tour will take us next.
