Dr. Yuntao Wu, MSE Research Assistant Professor, receives an IEEE Early Career Award

The institute of Electrical & Electronics Engineers has honored Dr. Yuntao Wu’s work at the Scintillation Materials Research Center (SRMC) with the 2017 Radiation Instrumentation Early Career Award from their Nuclear & Plasma Society.

This recognition specifically for newer faculty celebrates  “Significant and innovative technical contributions to the fields of radiation instrumentation and measurement techniques.”

Dr. Wu’s varied research expands the abilities for medical imaging, development of crystals with enhanced security applications, & detection of neutrons by incorporating scintillators into lithium.

He credits the SMRC with providing opportunities for growth as well as inspiration, but his 10 patents in both the USA & China testify to Dr. Wu’s already-present determination for excellence.
